KMG OÜ has added a new Volvo L220H wheel loader with a 5.8 m³ bucket capacity to its fleet. It replaces the reliable 21-year-old Volvo L220E operating at the Männiku sand quarry, which is now being sent into a well-earned retirement with honours.

The new loader was given the fitting name “Liisu”—a traditional Estonian name associated with a hardworking countrywoman for whom no load is too challenging.

The new H-series L220 is more efficient, productive and intelligent than previous-generation machines. Its powerful engine, second-generation OptiShift transmission and new dry parking brake provide fuel savings of up to 15%.

To increase productivity by up to 10%, the L220H is equipped with a new transmission torque converter and an optimised gear ratio.
