Large-scale roadworks were completed this week in Tartu, Valga and Jõgeva counties. During the project, construction company KMG OÜ renovated nearly 50 kilometres of roads using the environmentally friendly and resource-efficient hot in-place recycling method.

According to Targo Toots, Head of the Pavements Division at KMG OÜ, the roadworks commissioned by the Estonian Road Administration cost €3.4 million and included the restoration of more than 300,000 square metres of asphalt roads, 35,000 square metres of road widening and access roads, and 75,000 square metres of road shoulders across nearly 50 kilometres.

“The major asphalting works affecting regular road users, which began in June, have now been completed. The final stage—finishing the road shoulders and applying road markings—will be completed shortly and will no longer cause significant traffic disruption,” said Targo Toots.
